Hello folks!
This GitHub is part of an initiative of the ACM Student Chapter @ Texas A&M University-San Antonio (TAMUSA) to get students involved in coding, development, cyber security, and more! All are welcome to follow us and learn to code!
Who are we?
The ACM is an international scientific and educational organization dedicated to advancing the art, science, engineering, and application of information technology, serving both professional and public interests by fostering the open interchange of information and by promoting the highest professional and ethical standards. The organization will provide unique opportunities for networking, mentoring, and lifelong learning over common interests that support both within the institution and to local and global communities. The educational and scientific purposes of this organization is to promote an increased knowledge of and greater interest in the science, design, development, construction, languages, management and applications of modern computing, greater interest in computing and its applications, and a means of communication between persons having an interest in computing. The Chapter will serve students at Texas A&M University-San Antonio and other interested persons in the community. The Chapter is chartered by the ACM.
What is our mission?
Our mission is to facilitate and disseminate information technology and cyber security knowledge and hands-on training to the students of TAMUSA. In the world of IT, a more practical approach to teaching is necessary that extends the foundation of education in classrooms, and to spread awareness of the changing forces in the real world to club members. Our goal is to disciple students, create a diverse environment, and empower students to possess powerful skill-sets. We hope that this organization will impact students in a positive way that will leave them prepared for the industry!
